Following a career in civil engineering which took him from Canada to Bangladesh, east and west Africa, the middle east and more recently Russia, including Siberia, Tom is now a fully qualified 'Blue Badge' tourist guide. Tom's interests include industrial history, geology, Scottish history, folk music and literature.

While in full time education, Cairine taught in four continents and was a depute head teacher locally for ten years. Also enjoying her second career as a 'Blue Badge' tourist guide, Cairine's interests include social history, architecture, landscape and gardens of Scotland, as well as Scots language, literature and song.
